Guest DJs

For the third Mixmarathon, the Gabber Elders decided to invite a guest DJ. The first guest DJ is Bohemian; he will be bringing fresh youth and energy to the mix, all while pushing the Gabber Elders around in their wheelchairs.

Bohemian:  Dark, Distorted, and Danish

Bohemian is the alias of David, a DJ and producer who was born in 1988 in Denmark, and who found his way into the world of electronic music the old-fashioned way: through an older brother’s steady diet of old school techno.  That early exposure quietly rewired his brain, setting him on a path that would eventually lead far beyond four-to-the-floor comfort zones.

What began with old school techno slowly escalated into Hardcore and Hardstyle before finally taking a sharp left turn into the darker neighborhoods of the genre: Industrial, Doomcore, and Hardcore Techno.  This is where Bohemian set up permanent residence, happily surrounded by distortion, atmosphere, and BPMs that politely refuse to behave.

As a producer, his main inspiration is the simple but dangerous idea of turning thoughts into sounds—along with whatever life throws at him at the time.  The goal is not world domination or political manifestos, but emotional impact… and, ideally, having a good time while doing it.  Serious music, fun workflow.

Operating out of FL Studio, Bohemian believes every track should carry an emotion or idea, even if that emotion is “impending doom” or “this sounds better very loud.”  If you feel something while listening, mission accomplished.

A major milestone came when his brother Librarium invited him to collaborate on “Murdered Me,” released on Doomcore Records. The track landed on the label’s Best Of compilation—already a solid win—but then things escalated. The track spawned a remix competition, followed by a full Remix EP featuring electronic music artists Bohemian genuinely admires.

Bohemian says this about working with his brother Simon Holm (aka Librarium), “Our whole process of creating music together is a very strong bond with us always doing stuff together. Whether it being me having feedback on his solo tracks, us doing collabs, or him helping or creating Bohemian tracks together; many of our projects end up as collaborations, and we have even talked about doing a united alias for some projects. He started with producing, I started dj’ing and we sort of mashed our talents and interests. I look up to him very much, and neither of us would be were we are today with our projects if it was not for the other. We dont have any releases for the rest of the year, but we are working on a collaborative EP that will see the light of day in 2026.”

Live shows so far have been limited to a few gigs in Denmark, all of which were great—no disasters, no flying equipment, and zero regrets. One of the most surreal moments of his Hardcore life, however, was hearing someone else play one of his tracks. It felt strange, validating, awesome, and confusing all at once.

Influenced by a long list of artists including Mindustries, DJ Hidden, Low Entropy, Tymon, Wavolizer, The Prodigy, and many others (too many to list without accidentally starting an argument), Bohemian continues to refine his sound. Currently, he’s working on new collaborations with Librarium and developing a new EP he hopes will see the light of day before the year’s end—assuming the machines cooperate.

In 2024, Bohemian founded a new project called the Naughty List– he collected sets from other DJs to be released one per day for the entire month of December, on Toxic Sickness Radio. The project was so popular, he took it on again in 2025.

Outside of Hardcore, Bohemian listens to movie and game soundtracks, folk music, ambient, and industrial rock.  As for the current Hardcore scene, he’s pleased to see Downtempo and Techno getting more attention, while politely stepping away from the mainstream Uptempo situation.  Not everything needs to be faster, louder, and angrier—sometimes darker is enough.

“Remember to have fun and be good to yourself.”
